Leon Valley City Council Proposes Toll-Way for Bandera Road.

In September, 2005 the Leon Valley City Council passed a resolution to contact TxDOT (Texas Department of Transportation) and ARMA to build an elevated / fly-over toll-way the entire length of Bandera Road from Loop 410 to Loop 1604. This motion passed by majority before the business community had an opportunity to have constructive input regarding this project.

The Leon Valley Area Chamber of Commerce is asking for your input.
Please complete the form below to let us know how you feel about the proposed toll-way fly-over for Bandera Road.  In order for the Chamber of Commerce to have an informed  presentation for the Leon Valley City Council, it must have the input of the business community.

PRO - Argument in favor of the proposed toll fly-over construction.
1. It will relieve congestion on Bandera Road by offering a pass-through to Loop 1604.
2. Reduction in the amount of motorists using residential streets as alternate routes.
3.  Reduction in air pollution due to stop and go traffic.

Con - Argument against the proposed toll fly-over construction.
1. Construction will require several years during which potential customers will be impeded from patronizing businesses adjacent this construction.
2. Businesses will not be easily visible from the upper level of toll-way and exits will be minimal.
3. Cars traveling on the upper level will create an increase in noise pollution.
